A GST calculator adds or removes India's Goods and Services Tax from a price and splits it into CGST and SGST. Enter an amount and a GST rate to add tax on top, or tick the box to extract the tax already inside an inclusive price. Common Indian slabs are 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%. The whole thing runs on your device — no data leaves your browser.

How to use it

  1. Enter the amount and choose the GST rate.
  2. Leave the box unticked to add GST on top of the amount.
  3. Tick 'amount already includes GST' to work backwards and pull the tax out.

Examples

  • ₹1,000 + 18% GST → ₹1,180 (CGST ₹90 + SGST ₹90).
  • ₹1,180 inclusive at 18% → net ₹1,000, GST ₹180.

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate GST-inclusive vs exclusive prices?
For an exclusive price, multiply the amount by the rate and add it on: ₹1,000 × 18% = ₹180, total ₹1,180. For an inclusive price, divide by (100 + rate) and multiply by 100 to find the net: ₹1,180 × 100 ÷ 118 = ₹1,000. Tick the include-GST box to do this automatically.
What are the GST slab rates in India?
The main GST slabs are 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%, with 0% for many essentials. The rate depends on the goods or service. This calculator lets you enter any rate so it works for every slab.
What is CGST vs SGST vs IGST?
For sales within a state, GST splits equally into CGST (central) and SGST (state) — so 18% is 9% + 9%. For sales between states, a single IGST applies at the full rate instead. This calculator shows the CGST/SGST split for within-state sales.
How do I reverse-calculate GST from an MRP?
An MRP is GST-inclusive. Tick 'amount already includes GST', enter the MRP and the rate, and the calculator extracts the base price and the tax portion.
