Cookie Statement

Last updated 30 August 2026

Nothing is set until you say yes. EkaanHub asks one question, once: may we count your visit? If you say no, or never answer, no cookie is written and nothing is loaded from Google. Every tool on the site works exactly the same either way.

The cookies, if you agree

Saying yes lets us load Google Analytics, which tells us how many people find the site and where they arrive from — a search, a link, or directly. It writes these two cookies, and no others. They are only read by Google Analytics, and they carry no name, email or anything you typed or converted.

NameSet byWhat it is forHow long
_gaGoogle AnalyticsTells one returning visitor from another, so a hundred visits by one person are not counted as a hundred people.2 years
_ga_…Google AnalyticsKeeps track of a single visit, so moving between pages reads as one session rather than several. The name ends with our Analytics property's own identifier, which you can see in your browser's cookie list.2 years

There is still no advertising network, no Facebook pixel, and no cross-site tracking on this site. Google Analytics tells us that forty people read an article; it does not tell us who they were, and we do not use it to follow anyone anywhere else.

Why we ask instead of assuming

Cookies used for measurement are not necessary to deliver the page, so the law in the UK and EU requires us to ask first — and asking first is only meaningful if the tag stays unloaded until you answer. That is why the two buttons look the same. A bright Accept beside a faint Manage preferences is designed to make one answer easier than the other, and a consent collected that way is not really consent.

What we keep on your device

Separately from the cookies above, the site remembers a few preferences using your browser’s own local storage. This is not a cookie: it is never attached to network requests and never transmitted to us — it stays on your computer or phone and is only read by the page you are looking at.

ekaan-consentLocal storageRemembers whether you agreed to analytics, so you are not asked on every page. Set only once you answer.Until you clear it or change your answer

How to remove it

The quickest way is the link at the top of this page: turning analytics off deletes the cookies it set as well as stopping any more. Clearing site data for ekaanhub.com in your browser settings removes everything in both tables — nothing breaks, the site simply returns to its defaults and asks you the question again. Private or incognito windows discard all of it when you close them.

If this ever changes

Should we ever need another cookie — a login session, for instance, if accounts are added — this page will list it before it is set, and anything non-essential would ask you first, the same way. See the Privacy Policy for what is and is not collected.
