Most colleges require 75% attendance, and the arithmetic that matters is not your current percentage but what it takes to fix it. This calculator gives both directions: how many classes in a row you must now attend to climb back above the line, and — if you are safely above it — how many you can still afford to miss.

Frequently asked questions
- How many classes can I miss and still keep 75%?
- It depends on how far above the line you already are, and the answer is usually larger than people expect when they are comfortably ahead. At 55 of 60 attended, you could miss thirteen consecutive classes before dropping below 75%. The calculator works this out from your actual numbers rather than a rule of thumb.
- How many classes must I attend to recover my attendance?
- Every class you attend adds to both the attended count and the total, so recovery is slower than it looks. Going from 70% to 75% with 60 classes already held takes twelve consecutive classes with no absences — miss one in that stretch and the count restarts higher.
- Why does recovering attendance take so many classes?
- Because the denominator grows with the numerator. Attending one class does not move your percentage by one class's worth — it moves it by the difference between 100% and your target, spread across a total that just got bigger. That is why falling behind early in a term is much cheaper to fix than falling behind late.
- Do medical leaves count towards attendance?
- That is entirely your institution's policy. Many allow documented medical absences to be condoned, sometimes up to a stated limit, and some require an application within a fixed window. This calculator works on plain counts — if your college condones certain absences, enter the adjusted figures it recognises.
